Just wanted to show you another bit of the Doodlebug’s nursery. Yes, I’m dedicating a whole post to her crib and crib bedding because my mom and I hand-made her bedding. It was hard work. It took a long time. And, it deserves a post all to itself.
The fabric is — my fave and the most common fabric in my house — linen. The colors: tan and ecru. We modified the pattern a little bit on the ties because I wanted them to be long enough to tie bows.
The detail in the crib is beautiful. It’s a sleigh crib with solid ends. It’s creamy in color and lightly distressed. The best part about it was that I bought it at a fraction of the retail price because I bought it used. It belonged to my friend, Jenny and she takes really great care of her stuff….so I wasn’t worried. I was thrilled!
We used the tan linen for the big panels on the bumper and the ecru for the piping and ties.
I had the back center monogrammed to add a personal touch.
For the crib skirt, we used the tan linen for the upper portion and the made a border around the bottom with the ecru. We gathered it at the seams.
I added two baskets. I use them to store blankets, etc. in.
My favorite picture of all is the one I took of her in it for her 6 month photo shoot. She got tired in the middle of the shoot and I decided to try and work with it…you know, just shoot her sleeping! It turned out to be my favorite out of all of them.
