Summer Bucket List 2013

I created us a ‘Summer Bucket List’ for the summer. Both kids are home all summer and I want to try to stay busy. I ordered it in 8×10 print size and plan on framing it and hanging it somewhere fun in our house. What does your summer bucket lists look like?

If you were following along with me and reading my prayers for our children series, I plan to start back up on Monday! I had to take a break because I was very sick for over a week and during that time had to take care of our 3 year old who got her tonsils removed. Everything is getting back to normal now! She has healed great (thanks for the recovery wishes and prayers) and she is now going back to preschool. So, things getting back to normal for me, too.

Day 3 – To Make Jesus Lord & Be Filled…

Day 3 is Section 3 in the Praying For Children section of Sylvia Gunter’s book, For the Family. It’s a prayer for our children to commit their lives to make Jesus Lord and be filled with His Spirit. Sylvia’s words below…

I pray that my children will recognize that Jesus is the Name above all names and will confess Him as Lord of all. I pray that they will trust Him with all their heart, not lean on their own understanding, and acknowledge He is Lord in everything; thus, You will guide them in You best way for them. May they be filled with Your Spirit to the fullness of Christ. (Philippians 2:9-11, Proverbs 3:5-6, Ephesians 5:18, 1:23, 4:13)

Not only do I pray all of the above for my children, but I also pray they know the power that is in the name of Jesus. Luke chapter 10 says, “The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in Your Name.” Philippians 210 says, “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under earth….”

These are powerful truths here. There is another truth and that is that we’re in spiritual battle here on earth. satan is working harder to destroy our lives and relationships than we are working to fight it sometimes. And why? EVERY knee in heaven, on earth and UNDER earth shall bow at the sound of Jesus!

I pray my children not only know the importance of devotion to God and time with Him for communion, but the importance of time in prayer of confrontation with the enemy who comes to kill, steal, and destroy.
